MicroSoft Add On Extending HTML5 Video

15 12 2010

Add another notch to the proverbial belt for HTML5.  On December 15, 2010, Microsoft released a Firefox browser add on for HTML5 video for the Windows OS.  The plug-in will allow users to play videos with H264 encoded video on HTML5.

This is a substantial breakthrough for HTML5.  If more companies such as MicroSoft, Mozilla, Apple and Google support the new language, it will be in more popular demand in no time.  For HTML5 to be added to Windows Media Player, a program that comes with many of the computers already pre-installed, is a huge honor.  It shows that HTML5 is on its way to getting all of the credibility that it needs to move forward.  In other words, the reality of HTML5 being native to computers may be a reality, sooner than later.

So if HTML5 will be as native to computers as, for example a keyboard, being a programmer for HTML5 is a good place to be.  If that is what you are aiming for, make sure that you learn as much as you can about the language, and keep abreast all of the news and breakthroughs as possible.  There are many opportunities to learn, such as  All of the tutorials are easy to follow and you can learn at your own pace.  So make sure to follow all of the news about companies who support this language, so that you could jump through the proverbial door at the right time.  You’ll be happy to have the opportunity to be a framer in the new language.
